Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information Brandline Studio collects through this website and what we do with it. It's written to be genuinely useful to visitors, not just a legal formality — but it's a template and hasn't been reviewed by a South African attorney. Before relying on it for a live business, it's worth having it checked against the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) by a legal professional.

1. Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. That happens in a few places on this site:

  • The contact / quote form — your name, email address, phone number (optional), and whatever you write in the message field, plus what the enquiry is about.
  • WhatsApp — if you tap the WhatsApp button, your phone number and message are shared with us through WhatsApp directly, subject to WhatsApp's own privacy terms.
  • The chat assistant — whatever you type into the chat widget on the site.

We don't ask for banking details, ID numbers, or other sensitive information through this website. If a project later requires that kind of detail (for example, for an invoice), we'll collect it separately and only as needed.

2. How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry or quote request.
  • To understand what you need so we can scope and price a website or apparel order accurately.
  • To deliver a project you've asked us to work on, and to provide ongoing support if you're a Care Plus client.
  • To keep basic records of client communication for our own bookkeeping.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising or marketing to third parties.

3. Third parties we work with

A few outside services help us run this website. Each only sees the information needed to do its job:

  • FormSubmit — processes and forwards the contact form to our email inbox. See FormSubmit's privacy policy.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — if you message us via WhatsApp, that conversation is subject to WhatsApp's privacy policy.
  • Our hosting and email providers — used to keep the site online and to receive enquiries.
  • Anthropic — only if the AI-powered chat assistant is active on this site (rather than the built-in FAQ mode), your chat messages are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. See Anthropic's privacy policy.

4. The chat assistant

The chat widget on this site answers common questions about our services. Depending on how it's configured at any given time, it either matches your question against a small built-in list of answers (nothing you type leaves your browser in that mode), or it sends your message to an AI service to generate a reply. Either way, please avoid sharing sensitive personal or financial information in the chat — use the contact form or WhatsApp for anything private.

5. Cookies

This site does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser may store small amounts of technical data locally (for example, to remember that you've closed a banner) but we don't use this to track you across other websites.

6. How long we keep information

Enquiry and project-related information is kept for as long as reasonably needed to deliver the service and to meet basic recordkeeping and tax obligations, after which it's deleted or anonymised. If you'd like your information removed sooner, contact us and we'll action it unless we're legally required to keep it.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or contractual reason we may need to keep it.
  • Object to how your information is being used.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your information has been mishandled.

To exercise any of these, just get in touch — see the contact section below.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information sent to us, including relying on reputable third-party providers with their own security practices. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't store sensitive information (like payment details) on this website itself.

9. Children's privacy

This website is intended for business owners and adults enquiring about our services. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the business or website changes. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.

11. Contact us

Questions about this policy, or a request relating to your personal information, are welcome any time.
